Twisted Ciabatta Breadsticks

Twisted Ciabatta Breadsticks

The twisted shape of these ciabatta breadsticks gives them the perfect chewy texture for soaking up your favorite sauces and bread dips!

Here are the ingredients you'll need to make these twisted ciabatta breadsticks!

flour | olive oil water | salt | yeast

Mix the flour, yeast, and salt together in a bowl.

Add the water and olive oil and mix to form a sticky dough. Cover and rest for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, do the first set of coil folds.

The dough will rise for 1 hour and 45 minutes total. For the first hour, you'll do coil folds every 15 minutes.

Each "set" of coil folds is made up of four single coil folds. Rotate the bowl a quarter turn between each fold.

To do a coil fold, lift the dough from the middle so the ends tuck underneath it forming a coil shape. Rotate the bowl and repeat.

After the fourth and final set of folds the dough will be smooth and strong! Cover and let the dough rise for 45 minutes.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently stretch it into a rectangle shape about 10 inches wide.

Cut the dough into 1 inch strips. You should get at least 10 breadsticks.

Twist each breadstick on a lightly floured counter by rolling the ends in opposite directions.

Bake at 450°F for 11-13 minutes until light golden brown. The breadsticks will feel hard at first but soften to a chewy texture as they cool.
