This overnight pizza dough is a great recipe for beginners — you'll learn simple, foundational dough techniques for a stretchy, flavorful dough that browns beautifully.
While you can stretch this dough as thick or thin as you like, it was specifically designed to stretch super thin to give you a nice crisp crust!
Here are the ingredients you'll need!
Flour | Water | Instant Yeast Sugar | Salt | Olive Oil
Mix water and flour together to form a dry dough. Cover and let rest (autolyse) for 10 minutes.
In a small bowl combine water, sugar, and instant yeast. Mix and set aside.
Sprinkle the dough with salt, then pour the yeast mixture overtop. Pinch and fold the dough until incorporated. Cover and rest 20 minutes.
Drizzle the dough with olive oil and knead on a clean countertop until smooth.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover and let rise for one hour.
Divide the dough in four equal pieces and shape into balls.
Place the dough balls in greased round deli containers. Rest for 1 hour at room temperature, then refrigerate overnight.
60-90 minutes before making your pizza, remove the dough from the fridge. It will finish rising during this period.
Hand stretch the pizza dough on a well floured surface.
Add sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake on a preheated 500°F baking steel!
