Orange Cardamom Chocolate Chip  Ice Cream

This ice cream is so good on its own, but even better served in a glass of orange juice with some hot fudge!

Heavy cream Whole milk Orange zest Cardamom Pods Eggs Sugar Chocolate

Scald crushed cardamom pods and orange zest in heavy cream and milk. Reduce to simmer. DO NOT BOIL!

Whisk egg, egg yolk, and sugar together until ribboned, about 1-2 mins.

Remove the cardamom pods from the heavy cream, then slowly add the hot cream into the eggs, whisking constantly so it doesn't scramble.

Return the mixture to the pot and cook over low heat until thickened. The mixture should coat a spoon. DO NOT BOIL!

Strain the mixture into a container. Chill to room temp, then in the fridge overnight.

Churn according to ice cream maker’s instruction. Stir in frozen chocolate chunks at the end. Transfer to container and freeze until firm. Enjoy!
