Strawberry Syrup for Drinks

This simple strawberry syrup is perfect stirred into iced tea, lemonade, soda water, and cocktails! You can also use it for cake soaks and more!

Here are the ingredients you will need!

Strawberries, Lemon Peel & Juice, Water, Sugar, and Salt

Cook strawberries and lemon peel until strawberries soften and release their juices.

Add 10 ounces of water and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.

Continuing boiling until the strawberries are pale and the water has reduced by half.

Strain into a container. Lift and stir the berries but do not press them through the strainer.

Weigh the juice, then add the same amount of sugar into a pot. (8 oz juice = 8 oz sugar)

Stir the juice and sugar together off heat until well combined.

Dip a pastry brush in water and run it around the walls of the pot to dissolve any sugar crystals. This prevents your syrup from recrystalizing!

Bring to a rolling boil. When it boils, set a timer for 1 min. Then remove from heat and let cool.
