Make a caraway seed tea by mixing hot water and caraway seeds. Set aside to cool until lukewarm.
Mix the flour, rye flour, salt, yeast, and sugar together in your mixer bowl. Then add the lukewarm caraway seed tea.
Mix the dough until it comes together, then knead until it's smooth and slightly tacky to the touch.
Shape the dough into a ball, place in a lightly greased bowl. Cover and rise for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into eight equal pieces. Shape into balls, then poke holes through the middle and stretch to make bagels.
Boil the bagels, flipping halfway through
Brush the bagels with an egg wash, then bake.
