How to Make a Brioche Bread Loaf

This beginner friendly bread recipe makes just one loaf of soft brioche bread! It's a super fun dough to work with!

Here are the ingredients you'll need to make this soft brioche bread loaf!

Flour | Honey | Whole Milk Egg | Salt | Yeast | Butter

Whisk together flour, salt, and yeast in a stand mixer bowl.

In a separate container, whisk together milk, honey, and egg.

Mix with a dough hook until combined, then knead until smooth and elastic.

Add butter one tablespoon at a time, giving each piece time to incorporate completely before adding more.

Knead until the dough passes the windowpane test.

Shape into a ball, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Deflate the dough and shape into 8 equal pieces.

Shape each piece into a tight ball.

Arrange in rows in a greased and lined loaf pan, cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Brush with egg wash and bake.

Let cool in the pan briefly, then remove to a rack to cool completely.

With this shaping method the brioche is super soft and can be pulled apart or sliced for sandwiches and French toast!
